The International Council of Nurses (ICN) has launched the new ICN Learning Hub, making outstanding learning, evidence and good practice from the ICN Congress available to nurses around the world.
The Learning Hub launches with more than 100 carefully selected and edited videos from the ICN Congress 2025 in Helsinki, which brought together around 7000 nurse leaders from across the world. The content is organized into eight learning tracks covering major issues affecting nursing and health today, including leadership, workforce policy and safe staffing, digital innovation and artificial intelligence, advanced practice, education and mentorship, mental health and wellbeing, humanitarian response, and the image and identity of the nursing profession. Many of the learning modules also offer ICNEC continuing education credits.
Nurses can explore the content flexibly and at their own pace, drawing on the knowledge and experience of leading voices from nursing, global health, policy and practice.
ICN President José Luis Cobos Serrano said:
"As nurses, we know that learning never stops. Throughout our careers we continue to develop new knowledge, new skills and new ways of improving care for the people and communities we serve. The ICN Learning Hub, as part of our Leadership Centre, provides nurses everywhere with flexible access to high-quality professional learning so they can continue developing their knowledge, skills and leadership, wherever they are in the world."
The Learning Hub is an important new part of the ICN Leadership Centre, reflecting ICN's vision that every nurse should have the opportunity to learn, develop and lead throughout their professional life.
ICN Chief Executive Officer Howard Catton said:
"We learn when we lead, and we lead because of what we have learned. Learning and leadership are inseparable. That is the golden thread running through the ICN Leadership Centre.
‘Every nurse has leadership within them, and every nurse should have the opportunity to learn and develop throughout their career. Through the new ICN Learning Hub, now an intrinsic part of the Leadership Centre, we are making outstanding global nursing knowledge, best practice and experience available to nurses everywhere.”
The Learning Hub extends the reach of ICN Congresses by ensuring that the learning, debate and ideas generated there remain available long after the event has ended. It will continue to grow with content from future Congresses and ICN's wider programmes and activities.
The ICN Leadership Centre brings together ICN's leadership, learning and development opportunities, including the Global Nursing Leadership Institute (GNLI), Leadership for Change™, ODENNA, Nursing Leadership for Crisis Response and Recovery, and the new Learning Hub.
