Ladies and gentlemen, esteemed colleagues, and fellow advocates for nursing excellence,
As a candidate for the International Council of Nurses Board Member representing the ASEAN region, it is both an honor and a privilege to share my vision for advancing nursing and healthcare in Southeast Asia and beyond.
During my tenure as the President of the Indonesian National Nurses Association (INNA), I have dedicated my career to empowering nurses, strengthening healthcare systems, and advocating for the rights and recognition of our profession. My journey has been guided by a commitment to integrity, accountability, and collaboration—values that I believe are essential for effective leadership.
Furthermore, I successfully led our organization through transformative changes, for example: create Indonesian nurses big datas eventhough we have a vast range of distribution of nurses across all Indonesian archipelago. Together, we co-authored Indonesia’s Nursing Act, ensuring stronger legal protections for nurses. We shaped workforce strategies within the ASEAN Joint Coordinating Committee on Nursing and advanced regional healthcare policies through the Asia Workforce Forum. These achievements reflect my unwavering dedication to strengthening nursing policies and regulations that benefit our profession and the communities we serve.
Besides that, I have had the privilege of partnering with esteemed international organizations such as WHO-SEARO, the World Academy of Nursing Science, and the World Society of Disaster Nursing. Through these collaborations, we have elevated nursing standards and championed better working conditions for nurses, particularly during the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic. My leadership within ASEAN’s Healthcare Services Sectoral Working Group has further strengthened regional healthcare policies, ensuring that nurses are at the forefront of decision-making while have the significant role and contribution in achieving SDG’s target.
I have worked tirelessly to build our organization into a financially independent institution, ensuring its sustainability for future Indonesian nurses development. This experience has equipped me with the skills and knowledge to provide a profound financial stewardship as an ICN Board Member.
Throughout my career, I have moderated and spoken at global nursing forums, including ICN assemblies, fostering collaboration and driving meaningful change. I have negotiated agreements with international healthcare partners and implemented digital transformation within INNA, making our processes more efficient and accessible.
If elected as your ICN Board Member, I will:
- Advocate for better nursing regulations and policies across ASEAN and beyond.
- Expand global partnerships to strengthen healthcare systems.
- Uphold ethical leadership and transparency in governance.
- Commit to advancing nursing standards and empowering nurses especially in developing countries.
Together, we can build a stronger, healthier ASEAN region and beyond—one that recognizes the contributions of nurses and prioritizes the well-being of our communities.
I humbly ask for your support and your vote. Let us join hands to empower nurses, transform healthcare, and create a brighter future for our profession.
Together we are stronger. Together we are ICN.
Thank you.
