Programme Overview

How long is this programme?

  • 1 year

How many applicants are accepted each year? 

  • Approximately 30 applicants will be accepted each year

Is this programme 100% online?

  • No, Module 2 is the residential module and every scholars is required to attend the sessions in person.

Are bursaries available?

  • Bursaries may be available for those from low- and lower-middle-income countries (as per the World Bank classification). However, bursary distribution will depend on the number of applications received.

Programme Assessment

Self-Assessment

  • All GNLI scholars are asked to assess their policy leadership competencies at the beginning of the programme and set their own GNLI goals. You will review these competencies at the end of Module 1 and create your own individual development plan to work on during Module 2 and beyond.

Programme Evaluation

  • You will be invited to participate in formative and summative evaluations of the modules and the overall programme.

GNLI Certification

  • Scholars are required to attend a minimum of 80% of all scheduled sessions to receive a certificate of completion of the programme and be a part of the GNLI Alumni Network.

Requirements for Completion

Scholars are required to:

  • Participate in 80% of the scheduled online sessions in Modules 1 and 3
  • Be fully present during the Module 2 on-site week in Geneva, attending 100% of the sessions, panel discussions and other events
  • Complete the Regional Projects and present their findings to an audience
  • Deliver the final report of their Regional Projects
  • Conduct a peer review of their research, which must be accepted by the programme directors

GNLI Alumni Network

Once scholars have successfully completed the GNLI Programme, they will have the opportunity to join the GNLI Alumni network.
