About NLCRR

Empowering nurses to lead in times of crisis. Nurse Leadership for Crisis Response and Recovery (NLCRR) is a leadership development project designed to support mid-career and senior nurses in Ukraine. It provides training in crisis leadership, mental health support, communication, and healthcare recovery through a blend of online and in-person learning.

Mandatory requirements

  • Educational Qualifications: Applicants should hold Nurse Diploma, Junior professional bachelor's degree or bachelor's degree or master's degree in nursing and currently serve in a leadership role, such as Chief Nurse of a department, or Head Nurse at a hospital, clinic, or regional level.    
  • Professional Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in a leadership position within the national health service.    

Examples include: ​

- Head Nurse/Director of Nursing: The nurse in charge of nursing services in a hospital

- Chief Nursing of the region: Senior advisor on nursing matters in a governmental context​

- Education position: teacher at nursing school or university on the field of nursing

Proposed key dates

To ensure the highest quality and relevance of the programme, we are aiming to launch the online learning module in mid-September, with the in-person workshop event planned for no later than late October 2025. Actual dates to follow.

This decision reflects the following evolving priorities:

  • Application Review: Many applications require a careful and equitable selection process to ensure an appropriately representative and qualified group of participants.
  • Content Alignment: We are reviewing and updating the programme content to ensure it best reflects the current needs of nurses in Ukraine.
  • Facilitator Finalization: We are finalizing the recruitment of experienced local facilitators to support both online and in-person delivery.

These additional steps are essential to delivering a programme that is professionally executed, up to date, and directly relevant to the realities of nursing practice in Ukraine. Thank you for your understanding and continued support.
