About Botswana Nurses Union The Botswana Nurses Union (BONU) formerly Nurses Association of Botswana (NAB); was founded by the late Grace Kgari in 1968 and she became the first President of the association. BONU was launched on the 24 October 2012, this followed a resolution that was agreed at a Nurses Day held at Serowe in 2009 and follow-up at another Nurses Day at Otse in 2010. The professional nurses and midwives of Botswana realized the importance of having a union to address employer/employee relation in a more professional legal way. BONU is comprised of two (2) professional arms being the professional arm and bargaining arm. Governed by 13 central executives.
