The Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) formerly known as Ghana Registered Nurses Association is a Professional Association for all categories of Nurses and Midwives in Ghana. It was founded in March, 1960 and became a Trade Union in July, 2005. The object of the Association among other things is to advance the interest and welfare of the nurses and midwives, promote the dignity and independence of the professions with special reference to professional standards, conducts, discipline and etiquette. The vision of GRNMA is to become a leader of frontline health service providers and an excellent team player in the health care continuum. Its mission is to Develop nurses and midwives professionally to cope with the contemporary challenges of the profession and to work towards the promotion of the health of our clientele and their socio-economic status. The operations of the Association is guided by its five-year strategic plan which has six (6) main thematic areas as, leadership and governance, education and training, research, welfare of members, influencing of health policies and campaigns and communications.
