The Guyana Nurses Association (GNA) was established in June 1928 as the British Guiana Nurses Association. The main objective was to raise the standard of nursing care in the hospitals. In 1966 when Guyana achieved independence the name was changed to its present form. Membership comprise all categories of nursing personnel.

Vision: Guyanese population receives quality nursing services and care at all health facilities.
