Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation (INMO)

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation is Ireland’s only registered trade union and professional organisation for nurses and midwives. Representing over 42,000 members, the INMO has a century-long legacy of representing members on industrial relations matters, professional, educational, and regulatory issues. 

The INMO serves as a strong voice for its members leading out on issues such as safe staffing in Irish hospitals, tackling overcrowding, and fair conditions at work. The INMO offers educational resources and accredited training opportunities to all members. 

The INMO is dedicated to enhancing both the welfare of our members and the quality of patient care across Ireland.  

We are the only organisation in the Republic of Ireland affiliated to the International Council of Nurses, the International Council of Midwives, the European Federation of Nursing Association, and the European Midwives Association.
