Dr. Glory Msibi serves as the President of the East Central and Southern Africa College of Nursing and Midwives (ECSACONM) and a councillor of Pigg’s Peak Town in Eswatini. She was the Chief Nursing Officer in the Ministry of Health, Government of the Kingdom of Eswatini.
Dr. Msibi founded the Swaziland Nurses Association and played a pivotal role in affiliating the Association to the Federation and securing a Recognition Agreement for nurses and midwives from the government.
With 22 years in Clinical and Primary Health Care, Dr. Msibi has excelled in delivering clinical and community health services. As Registrar for 12 years, she demonstrated transformational leadership by revising legislation and developing essential regulatory frameworks, including strategic plans, scopes of practice, nursing education and practice standards, and codes of professional ethics. She also created procedural manuals for nursing specialties, a Continuing Professional Development (CPD) framework, logbooks, and managed asset acquisition.
As Chief Nursing Officer, she developed rotation guidelines for hospitals and health centers, and supervisory tools for all levels of care. She provided strategic policy direction for nursing and midwifery services, adapting WHO's Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery.
In her role as President of ECSACONM, Dr. Msibi is leading the College’s transformation by expanding master's programs, increasing visibility, and enhancing partnerships to strengthen nursing and midwifery in the region. Her publications address the establishment of a national continuing professional program for nurses and midwives in Eswatini, entry-to-practice competencies, and regulatory reforms in nursing.
