Prof. Michael Joseph S. Diño is a highly respected nurse researcher, educator, and innovator. An Apple Distinguished Educator (ADE) and former member of its Global Advisory Board, he graduated Summa Cum Laude with a master's in nursing from Our Lady of Fatima University and earned a PhD in Development Studies from the University of Santo Tomas. Prof. Diño is the first Asian to receive the Nurse in the Limelight Innovator Award for his pioneering work in nursing innovation. He serves as an academic consultant in areas such as Informatics and Simulation and is Turnitin’s first Academic Ambassador for Academic Integrity. His extensive publications cover leadership, management, and the integration of technology into nursing education. He currently researches Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) technologies in healthcare and founded the MARVEL laboratory in the Philippines.
Prof. Diño is an alumnus of the Experienced Nurse Faculty Leadership Academy of Sigma Nursing and has received numerous accolades, including the Excellence Award from the University of Santo Tomas and the 2019 Emerging Nurse Researcher Award at Sigma’s Nursing Research Congress. He was named a 2020 Global Nurse Leadership Institute Academy Scholar and honored as a Fellow of both the American Academy of Nursing and the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland. Among his recognitions, he was a Top 10 finalist in the Aster Guardians Global Nursing Award. As Director of the Research Development and Innovation Center at Our Lady of Fatima University, he continues to advance nursing education and research. He recently completed a second PhD at Johns Hopkins University and was awarded the Outstanding Professional of the Year Award in Nursing by the Philippine Professional Regulatory Commission in 2023.
